Governing Document - The then General Committee of the Scottish Rugby Union established the Fund in 1972 by Deed of Trust (registered in the Books of Council and Session on 6 June 1972) and agreed with the Inland Revenue (registered from 8 August 1972) that the terms of the Deed setting up the Fund will enable the Fund to be regarded as a charitable one entitled to relief under Section 360 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970 (registered with OSCR from 23 June 2005).
In effect, this means that donations to the Fund can be made by way of gift aid in respect of which the Fund will be able to recover tax from the Inland Revenue (now HM Revenue and Customs).
The fund is managed by the Trustees of the Fund.
Objects of Fund - The objects of the Fund are wide and include assistance being given to players injured or suffering disablement as a result of playing Rugby Football as well as such other general charitable purposes as the Trustees see fit.
Assistance is given at the discretion of the Trustees
