Club Development Officer

Part Time

Salary £12,000 (Based on 17-25 hours per week)

3 year term subject to funding and a review after 12 months

In partnership with Scottish Rugby, Dunbar Rugby Club are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to work within the club and local schools to recruit  and retain players for lifelong participation of the game of rugby within the Dunbar cluster, and in turn contribute to Scottish Rugby’s national and regional strategies.

The post requires experience of both sports development and coaching within a club and school environment as well as a full, valid driving licence.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Increase playing  participation within the club and schools in the Dunbar area
  • Create and drive the implementation of a club development plan
  • Work in partnership with  a range of agencies to raise the profile of rugby in the local community
  • Manage and support Modern Apprentice students, if applicable
  • Deliver high quality coaching sessions to Dunbar club and associated cluster schools and community groups
  • Organise and facilitate opportunities for developing Dunbar club coaches
  • Recruitment, retain, reward and develop all Dunbar club volunteers
