The Collingwood Club Tournament 2011 PDF Print

Collingwood is a small town in the top North West of New Zealand's South Island. Despite our size we have produced an All Black Captain and a President of the New Zealand Rugby Union. The Collingwood Club was founded in 1889 and has an illustrious history.

With New Zealand hosting the Rugby World Cup in 2011, we are considering organising a small tournament to coincide with the main event. This would involve clubs from the major countires who had also been founded in the year 1889. Besides the current club teams, there might be games involving Golden Oldies, Sevens and Touch.

It just depends what people are interested in and how many might travel. At this stage we are merely contacting the major national unions to try and identify clubs that might have been founded in the same year as Collingwood.
