Edinburgh Midi Club Leagues To ensure maximum participation matches are played over three twenty minute periods with the first two periods providing the league result and the final twenty minutes used as a development period to ensure players of all standards get an opportunity to play the game. The league is governed by a committee comprising representatives from all competing clubs, whilst an executive committee, with three members will oversee the day to day running of the league competition and application of league rules. Previous Winners Under 16 U15 & U16 League Rules 1.Under 15 matches will be played over 60 minutes split into 3 x 20 minutes, the first two periods counting for the League Score. The last period of 20 minutes being a Development Period where all subs should be played.
3.Teams at each age group will be split into two pools with Under 16 fixtures based on finishing positions in Under 15 league (1st 3rd 5th etc in one pool and 2nd 4th 6th etc in second pool). Under 15 pools follow Under 16 to allow double headers. In each pool teams will play one fixture against the other teams in the pool. Final positions in each pool will be determined by points gained. In the event of two or more teams tying on points the team winning the match between the tying teams will be awarded the higher placing. If the match was a draw the away team will be awarded the higher placing. At the end of the pool stages the top four teams will go forward to play in Division 1, playing one fixture against each of the top four teams in the other pool. The teams placed 5th and below in the pools will play additional fixtures against the teams placed 5th and below from the other pool in Division 2 Results between teams who qualify for the same Division will be carried forward, i.e. winners of Pool 1 results against the teams finishing 2nd 3rd & 4th will be carried forward to the second stage and form part of the final league table. The same will apply to teams from 5th to 7th /8th for the final Division 2 table. League will be decided on highest points total after the second stage of matches from Division1. If the top two sides are equal on points then a play-off will determine the league winners
5.It is the home team’s responsibility to arrange for an appropriately licensed referee to referee the League Matches. 6. With the exception of exemptions through the SRU Are You Ready For Rugby Policies Players participating in the Edinburgh U15 League must be born in or after 1995 7. (i) All players must be registered with the SRU by their clubs before they are eligible 8.All coaches MUST complete a signed “Player Registration Team Sheet” and hand it to the opposing Coach / Manager prior to the start of the Game. If a team has 13 players or more then the fixture will go ahead as a league fixture. |
