Edinburgh Midi Club Leagues To ensure maximum participation matches are played over three twenty minute periods with the first two periods providing the league result and the final twenty minutes used as a development period to ensure players of all standards get an opportunity to play the game. The league is governed by a committee comprising representatives from all competing clubs, whilst an executive committee, with three members will oversee the day to day running of the league competition and application of league rules. Previous Winners Under 16 U15 & U16 League Rules 1. Under 15 matches will be played over 60 minutes split into 3 x 20 minutes, the first two periods counting for the League Score. The last period of 20 minutes being a Development Period where all subs should be played. 2. Points system will be 4pts win, 2pts draw and 1 pt loss 0pts forfeit. Points differential will not be recorded in the league 3. Teams at each age group will be play one fixtures against all the other teams in the league. Leagues will be decided on highest league points total after all matches have been played. If the top two sides are equal on points then a play-off will determine the league winners.
5. It is the home team’s responsibility to arrange for an appropriately licensed referee to referee the League Matches. 6. Age Grade Player eligibility is as follows: Players participating in the Edinburgh U15 League must be born on or after 1st September 1995 7. (i) All players must be registered with the SRU by their clubs before they are eligible 8. All coaches MUST complete a signed “Player Registration Team Sheet” and hand it to the opposing Coach / Manager prior to the start of the Game. If a team has less then 13 players then the game will be forfeited to the non offending team. If a team has 13 players or more then the fixture will go ahead as a league fixture. 10. Where a club cannot field a team as per IRB Law 3.5 (can not start a match with a suitably trained and experienced front row) they will forfeit the league match and four league points will be awarded to their opponents. If a match is still played, with uncontested scrums from the start, the forfeiting team will be awarded one point for fulfilling the fixture. |
