Edinburgh University Rugby Football Club (EURFC) 1st XV Development Squad departed on 1 June for an 18 day tour of Japan. So far, of the five matches organised by the EURFC committee and their Sponsors, Rhino Rugby, the side have won one and lost one against some of the top university sides in Japan.

The first game was a tough battle against a very well drilled and physical side, the second a slightly easier fixrture with clinical finishing in the first half that tailed off in the second. Even with a squad of 28 players the hectic match schedule presents a difficult task for the touring party.

The squad are hoping to build on some of their better performances of the season, which saw them beat Birmingham away in the BUSA Championships, and allow them to gain a strong platform for next season.
