Despite losing 13-10 to Moray House on Saturday Edinburgh Northern’s losing bonus point was enough to secure the East Regional League Division 2 title. Promotion to East 1 had already been confirmed and now, with one match still to play Northern cannot be caught at the top of the league.

Northern have won 16 of their 19 matches and complete their league programme at Walkerburn this Saturday

East Region Competition Committee Convenor and Scottish Rugby Council Representative Barry Sinclair was on hand to present the trophy to Northern.

The second promotion place is still up for grabs with St.Boswells completing their league programme on Saturday with victory over Edinburgh BATs to finish on 73 points, but Earlston currently sit on 65 points with matches still to play against RDVC on Saturday and Walkerburn on Thursday 7th May
