When most men turn 30 they could be forgiven for heading for a beach ina bid to recapture their youth

Instead, Marc McEwan and Robert Ritchie, both from North Berwick, have decided that 9 days and 1000 mile cycle round the coast of the country in aid of a charity close to their hearts will prove that they are still young.

Hearts and Balls role is to assist catastrophically injured rugby players and their families by offering financial support and advice on fundraising. The charity that helped close friend, Jonny Mitchell, who suffered a spinal injury in a scrum.

The pair will cycle up the east coast of Scotland from North Berwick to John O'Groats going through St Andrews, Aberdeen, Fraserburgh and Inverness before heading along the top of the country and down the west coast as far as Oban.

They will head towards Callander and back to North Berwick in a cycle which will total around 1,000 miles with an expected duration of 9 days.
