Some of the oldest and boldest of Scotland's club rugby stalwarts are packing up their zimmers in the old kit bag and heading for North Berwick for a tournament to remember. The Puffin Gannets oldies team of North Berwick are holding their first Golden Oldies festival at the town's Recreation Park on Saturday September 26, kick-off 2pm.
The festival comes as a follow-up to the success of the World Golden Oldies Festival held in Edinburgh last September and the first Scottish Oldies Festival in Perth last April. Teams from the Central Belt, Fife and East Lothian will join the Puffins for the afternoon themed on Fun, Friendship and Fraternity – and retiring to the bar as quickly as possible. There will be a total of seven games between two pools of teams made up of the Puffins, Dunbar, Howe of Fife/Madras, Musselburgh/Portobello, Forth Valley Fossils and the Dirty Old Men from Edinburgh. Supporters and families are welcome to come and join in the event which will have food and bar facilities available and fun and hospitality as its keywords. |
