Runners-up Currie, exacted revenge on holders Stirling County in the prevous round
The draw for the National Under-18 Youth Cup quarter-finals was announced today, just hours before the Under-15 and Under-16 finals get underway at Murrayfield Stadium.

Boroughmuir will host GHA in an inter-city clash at Meggetland while fellow Edinburgh club, and last season's under-18 runners-up, Currie, make their way to Stoneyhill to face Musselburgh having exacted revenge on last season's winners, Stirling County, by knocking them out in the previous round.

Currie under-18 head coach, Bob Ormiston, was happy his players had exorcised their final's day demons.

He said: "It wasn't a massive shock because we beat them in the league at the beginning of the season so to beat them twice since the final has been nice for the boys.

"But we're under no illusions about our progress in this competition as we've already lost once to Musselburgh and Haddington in the league and they're still in the Cup.

"Anyone could beat anyone - it's probably the strongest I've ever seen left in the tournament."

Having defeated Deeside (5-21) away from home, Highland have drawn home advantage in a northern derby with Aberdeen Grammar at Canal Park after Grammar progressed with a narrow (26-24) win over Edinburgh BATs on the road.

In the final tie of the quarter-final, Haddington will host Dumfries, a side that features a maturing crop of youngsters eager to repeat their route to Murrayfield in the under-16 cup last season.

Dumfries head coach, Alan Graham, said: "We thoroughly enjoyed the final last year; the experience of playing in the stadium, having the game on the big screens - all the players, parents and club members had a great day despite the result.

"More than 50% of last season's under-16 squad are in the under-18 Colts team, with five playing in the under-17 district team, but Haddington have a good record in the Edinburgh league which is very strong."

The National Under-18 Youth Cup quarter-finals will take place the weekend of 12-14 March leading up to the finals day at Murrayfield Stadium on Monday 26 April - admission is free.
