The leaders of the top Scottish Hydro Premier and National leagues were kept apart in their respective Premier Cup and National Shield semi-finals, drawn live on the STV Rugby Show by Scott Hastings and Dan Parks today.

Premier 1’s top team, Currie, will travel to the Greenyards to play Melrose while Ayr, second in the league with two games in hand and unbeaten at home in domestic competition this season, will host cup holders Heriot’s at Millbrae.

Similarly in the National Shield, National 1 league leaders Dalziel and Whitecraigs will welcome being kept apart in the semis – and drawing opposition from the league below in the process –  however, both face tricky ties on the road with Dalziel travelling to Fort Matilda to face National 2 champions Greenock Wanderers and Whitecraigs heading east to play Lasswade at Hawthornden.

The clubs will battle it out this Saturday (3 April) for a place in the final at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday 24 April.

Ayr v Heriot’s (Millbrae, Ayr)

SCOTTISH HYDRO NATIONAL SHIELD SEMI-FINAL (Saturday 3 April)
