After missing last season’s tournament due to an invitation to play at Langholm Sevens, Hawick YM celebrated their return to the District Union Sevens by claiming victory at Netherdale on Saturday.

Having disposed of Jed A and Gala A on  route to the final, Hawick YM were pushed all the way by a Peebles A side who led 19-12 and had a great opportunity to stretch their lead, however the chance went begging and YM regained control to run in three more tries for a 31-19 victory .

Jed A shrugged off the disappointment of a losing to Hawick YM in the first round to win the Plate competition, proving too strong for Earlston in the final.
