Despite the margin, the sides endured a tense and scoreless first-half before Dunfermline settled their stall at half-time and racked up three unanswered tries and a penalty to win the Bowl. Their first score came 12 minutes into second-half when rangy outside-centre Manveer Bhai ran in a fine score which was converted by stand-off Gregor McNeish, 7-0. Dunfermline then kept up the pressure and, while McNeish missed out on the opportunity to extend their lead when his penalty rebounded off the upright, the stand-off soon made amends with a fine drop goal to crucially put his side more than a score ahead, 10-0. Just two minutes later Dunfermline crossed the whitewash through hooker Tom Murray before inside-centre Martin Scade scored the side's third and final try to win the Bowl. FULL TIME: 20-0 Dunfermline Portobello Man of the match: Alex Henderson |
