The season opens tomorrow with an away trip to Kirkcaldy. It was one all last season with home wins and Kirkcaldy ending the season one place above Peebles. With a good result against Selkirk last Thursday, Peebles will be hoping to do the double this season and start with a win at Beveridge Park.

The seconds had a pre-season friendly at Penicuik on Wednesday, whilst the colts were at the Gytes where Biggar provided the opposition.

The colts have two days of sevens as their league starts a week tomorrow against last year’s unbeaten winners Selkirk YC. Tomorrow, however, it is Langholm Sevens, followed by Melrose Wasps on Sunday. Peebles did well in the sevens last year reaching at least 2 finals and a semi final, only to be stopped short by the unbeaten Selkirk YC who must still have a full trophy cabinet.

The club development officer will be on duty at the Gytes open day, where he will be available to meet with potential players interested in taking up rugby or continuing their current and will have information and advice to help them do so.

The fixture cards will not be available until next week. Those that have already paid for the new season will receive them and their membership cards as soon as they are available.

The membership secretary will be available at the Gytes on 28th to take any additional membership subscriptions and distribute any membership cards not already delivered. If you are paying on 28th be sure and arrive early enough to pay and get into see the start of the first league home game, which will be against newly promoted Falkirk.
