The 2009 – 2010 season was again a very successful season for the Exiles programme. This season has seen 46 Exiles players being involved with the national age group squads. This has been emphasised at the top end of the national age group programme, at U20 level. With nine players selected to travel to Argentina for the Junior World Championship. The players were:
Anthony Kent (Wasps), Callum Stidson Nott (London Scottish), Michael Tait (Newcastle Falcons), Russell Weir (Loughborough Univ), Adam Fedorciow (Bath Univ), Jonny Kennedy (Sale), Oli Grove (Worcester) Alex Black (Leeds Carnegie) Callum MacBurnie (Moseley)
Many of these players started their U20 season last August playing for the Exiles in an International festival including Belgium and France. Preparations for the 2010-11 U20 season have already begun with the Exiles looking to emulate the win against Belgium with a return fixture in August at Bracknell RFC. With the possibility of some of the National 20’s selection team attending this match this could once again be the first step on the ladder for the Exiles players achieving a place in the Scotland 20’s team.
