Brin plate final This match for the Wildcats first chance of silverware this season was played in temperatures which matched the tempo! Some great physical rugby was played with the Wildcats taking the first score through Kris Thomas and well converted from out wide by newcomer to the game Lewis Sinclair. Craig then went over the line to bring things to 7-5 and just before the break Ross Mellis added a score and Ross found themselves in the ascendancy. After the break two of the squad found themselves needed for the 1st XV who were playing Highland for the Jack Henderson cup. This left the final 30 mins to be played without any subs available for the Wildcats. The 3rd try came from Lewis Sinclair and he duly converted his own score. Ross 2nds captain Gordie Black scored another through some excellent close support play which he started and finished. The final try came from Captain Black and made the final result a resounding score of 33 points to 5 in the Wildcats favour. In the true spirit of the game everyone played their part and makes the younger players in this squad an exiting prospect in the future of Ross-Sutherland RFC. Man of the Match was awarded to Clive Smith for his outstanding work rate throughout the match and was run close by a number of other players. Ross-Sutherland will be hosting a Sportsman’s dinner on the 20th May to raise funds to upgrade the clubs showers and other facilities as well as purchasing much needed new floodlights details of the event are as follows: Ross-Sutherland RFC Inaugural Sportsman’s Dinner. Come along and enjoy the food, the drink and have some excellent Craic! |
