The draw for the under-18 and under-16 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup semi-finals has been made.

In the under-18 competition it will be a home clash for Merchiston Castle against either, north representatives Robert Gordon’s College or 2010/11 runners-up Edinburgh Academy. This quarter-final will be decided on Wednesday 2 November at Countesswells, Aberdeen at 2pm.

Stewart’s Melville will be hosted by either George Watson’s College or Hutchesons’ Grammar School in the semis. The quarter-final between George Watson’s and Hutchesons’ will be played at Myreside, Edinburgh at 10.30am on Saturday 29 October.

 Scottish Rugby’s head of community rugby, Colin Thomson, head: “This year’s semi-finals have the potential to spark interest throughout Scotland as teams from across the country come together to compete for the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup.

“We wish all the teams still involved in the tournament the best of luck.”

In the under-16 competition George Watson’s College return to the semis. They face either George Heriot's or High School of Dundee who play on Wednesday 2 November at Goldenacre, Edinburgh at 2.30pm.

Furthermore, Dollar Academy will host the High School of Glasgow in the second under-16 semi-final.

The Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup under-18 and under-16 finals will take place on Saturday 26 November on the international pitch at Murrayfield.

Under-18 semi-final:

  • Merchiston Castle School v Robert Gordon's or Edinburgh Academy 
  • George Watson's College or Hutchesons' Grammar School v Stewart's Melville College

Under-16 semi-final:

  • George Watson's College v George Heriots or High School of Dundee
  • Dollar Academy v High School of Glasgow
