Scotland 7s and Edinburgh Rugby flyer Mark Robertson will make his first start for London Scottish this weekend when they take on Plymouth Albion. This will be Robertson’s third game with the club, part of a four week loan. The game on Saturday will be played at the Athletic Ground (kick-off 3pm), in a battle between two sides attempting the unlikely task of clawing their way out the Championship’s bottom four end of season playoff pool.
Scottish will be further buoyed by the return from injury of Wasps duel-registered centre Mitchell Tamiau, who was due to be with Scottish for the season before breaking his ankle in pre-season training. His recovery means that he slots into the team in place of Charlie Hayter who suffered an injury in training over the festive period. Elsewhere, Canadian World Cup international Adam Kleeberger makes his home debut after impressing in the previous two away games. Despite Plymouth’s well documented off-field troubles, Scottish Coach Simon Amor is not treating their threat lightly: “We certainly won’t be underestimating Plymouth on Saturday. As we have seen at other clubs, adverse conditions such as these often serve galvanise a squad and bring the players closer together, and I am certain that this will be the attitude Plymouth will arrive with.” London Scottish team: 15. Stuart Peel; 14. Agustin Gosio, 13. Ryan Westren, 12. Mitchell Tamiau, 11. Mark Robertson; 10. Dan Mugford, 9. Simon Amor; 1. Nick Auterac, 2. Tom Standfield, 3. Aaron Liffchak, 4. Alex Karonias, 5. Josh Thomas Brown, 6. Adam Kleeberger, 8. Willie Lipp, 7. Ben Lonergan |
