Anton Bresler

During summer 2014 Edinburgh Rugby announced the signing of powerful and athletic second row, Anton Bresler, from leading Super Rugby franchise, The Sharks, on a three-year deal to 2017.

The Namibian-born, 17st 8lb lock, stands just short of two metres tall and is a product of the KwaZulu-Natal and The Sharks academy set-up.

He was a regular enforcer for South Africa’s leading Super Rugby franchise since his 2011 debut, making 41 appearances.

The aggressive second-row had started the opening five matches for The Sharks in season 2013/14 before he injured his shoulder against the Bulls that March.

He made his debut for Edinburgh against Connacht, off the bench, in Round 2 of the Guinness PRO12 at BT Murrayfield and put in a man of the match performance later that season in the league win over Zebre.
