Why Rugby Ready?
The RugbyReady is a course that has been designed to update coaches on important information from both an IRB and Scottish Rugby perspective, whether that be around laws, age banding, player welfare or equipment. The course also addresses contemporary issues in the game providing opportunity for coaches to upskill on areas such as the tackle, breakdown and scrum.
As a result all coaches, teachers and referees must complete the RugbyReady Practical each season before working with players in Scotland.
2014/15 Rugby Ready Practical Courses
There are 3 versions of the RugbyReady Practical Course:
Mini (P1-P7) – Focus on ‘Understanding Talent & LTPD’
Youth (S1 – U16) – Focus on Tackle, Ruck, Core Stability and Speed/Agility
Adult(U18-Adult) – Focus on Anti-Doping and the Breakdown with Pro Coach
Where courses are advertised as ‘all age groups’, both mini and youth courses will run at the same. (If U18 and Adult Coaches are unavailable for the respective Adult courses in their region, they may attend a youth course).
