Finlay Gillies

Having impressed as part of the Scottish Rugby Elite Development programme for two seasons, Finlay Gillies was rewarded with a full-time contract that sees him provide stern competition to fellow hookers Dougie Hall and Pat MacArthur in season 2012/13.

A confident, ball-playing front-row, Gillies made two appearances for the club in season 2010/11, and was on the bench for the opening games in the 2011/12 RaboDirect PRO12.

Outside rugby, the Dunbar Grammar School former pupil has played for East Lothian’s county teams at both badminton and volleyball and was ranked in the Scottish top 50 in table tennis.

In March 2010 he made his debut for the Scotland Club International team in their fixture against their Irish counterparts in Dublin before debuting for the Scotland 7s team inthe HSBC Sevens World Series event Hong Kong before traveling with the squad to Adelaide.
