Peter Murchie joined Glasgow Warriors in June 2009 from London Welsh, making his debut in the Firhill win against Magners League defending champions Munster with which Warriors opened their competitive season.
He has since developed into a reliable customer at full-back, comfortable under the high ball and equipped with an impressively high work rate.
He is qualified for Scotland through his Ayrshire-born father, Finlay, who used to play for Ardrossan Academicals, and featured for the Scotland A team in their unbeaten 2010/11 and 2011/12 campaigns.
He made his Scotland debut in the 2013 quadrangular tournament in South Africa, gaining his first cap against the home side and continuing in the starting XV the following week in the win against Italy.
Murchie played for England under-18s and English Universities, and after his development in the Bath academy system he was in the club’s first XV squad as a teenager, playing in the Middlesex Sevens at 19.
In 2006 he joined Waterloo, the National League One club, scoring five tries in 24 appearances, before he moved on to Pertemps Bees in 2007 and then London Welsh in 2008.
