Head coach: Falkirk Rugby Club

Falkirk Rugby Club is inviting applications for the position of head coach.

About the club

Established in 1972 the club has had a meteoric rise through the leagues holding a Scottish record for the most consecutive league wins by any club.  Falkirk RFC is now established at the top end of Scottish rugby. This past season has seen the first XV third in the RBS Championship League A, the second XV, U18s and U16s top of there leagues and the U15 second in their league.

About the role

The head coach will be responsible for all playing and coaching matters within the senior section of the club, with primary emphasis on the performance and success of the 1st XV. The post-holder will be responsible for, work with, and develop a team of assistant coaches.

The successful candidate will also be expected to have a role in the transition and development of the players moving from youth to senior rugby.

Desired candidate

The successful applicant should:

  • hold IRB Rugby Ready and a minimum of UKCC Level 2 qualification.
  • be able to demonstrate lead coaching experience for a senior 1st XV squad at an appropriately high level.
  • possess excellent man-management and communication skills
  • show commitment, drive and ambition

Roles and responsibilities

  • plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions
  • provide feedback to coaches, players
  • be committed to furthering his/her coaching skills
  • Mentor and advise assistant coaches and players where appropriate.
  • work within a supporting structure, lead the identification and recruitment of new players
