Scotland 7s concluded day one in the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s with a 33-12 win over Spain.  They topped pool D and now play South Africa at 12.42pm tomorrow.

Head coach, Stephen Gemmell, said: "We were loose at times in this game, so in order to keep going tomorrow we must improve and cut out the errors.

The players have done everything they can today and have topped the group, so it's a great day."

In the final match they notched two tries early, with James Eddie scoring a brace.  His pace and physicality was impressive.

As the tie went on it seemed fatigue set in and Spain came back with two tries socred by Inaki Villanueva and Javier Carrion.

But the Scots never gave in and a further two tries were scored by Richie Vernon and Colin Gregor to secure the win.
