Glenn Metcalfe Returns For Glasgow

Glenn Metcalfe returns to Glasgow's team for the Celtic League match against Ebbw Vale at Hughenden tomorrow evening. A dead leg forced him to miss the 21-13 win against Swansea at St Helen's on Saturday. However, Roland Reid, Andy Nicol, and Donnie Macfadyen are unavailable because of injuries in the Swansea match. Reid has a stiff neck, Nicol a thigh strain, and Macfadyen a groin strain. Richie Dixon, Glasgow's head coach, said today that Nicol and Macfadyen are expected to be fit for the match against Llanelli on Friday this week. Reid's injury will be assessed on Wednesday to ascertain whether he will be fit to be considered for Friday's match. In all, for tomorrow, eight changes, including two positional switches, have been made in the team who started the Swansea game. Michael Bartlett, Jon Stuart, Graeme Beveridge, Gareth Flockhart, and David Hilton, like Metcalfe, return to the starting line-up. Metcalfe, Stuart, Beveridge, and Hilton respectively replace Graeme Kiddie, Andy Henderson, Nicol, and Cameron Blades. Bartlett resumes on the right wing, with Rory Kerr switching to the left in place of Reid, whereas Flockhart will be at blind side, with Gordon Simpson shifting to No.7 instead of Macfadyen. Gordon Bulloch takes over as captain in Nicol's absence.
