Roland Reid Switches To Left Wing

Glasgow restore Roland Reid to his now favoured role on the left wing for the Heineken Cup match against Cardiff at The Arms Park on Saturday.Reid, formerly a back-row forward before switching to the wing, was at No.8 when he scored two tries in Glasgow's 40-22 victory over Caerphilly in the Welsh/Scottish League match at Hughenden a week past Friday. However, Jon Petrie now returns to No.8, allowing Reid to switch to the wing in place of Rory Kerr, who will be among the replacements. Petrie missed the Caerphilly match because of a face injury.Andy Nicol, James McLaren, Andy Henderson, and David Hilton, like Petrie, return to the starting line-up. McLaren and Hilton appeared against Caerphilly as replacements.Glasgow continue without two back-row regulars, Gordon Simpson and Donnie Macfadyen, and two wing threequarters, Jonathan Steel and Michael Bartlett, are unavailable for the Cardiff match because of leg injuries. Steel has a hamstring strain, and Bartlett has deep bruising in a thigh.However, Steve Griffiths returns to the squad as a replacement after more than two months" absence.
