International Quartet Return For Glasgow

Four Scotland caps - Andy Nicol, James McLaren, Jonathan Steel, and Gordon Simpson - return to Glasgow's match squad for the Heineken Cup contest against Cardiff at Hughenden on Sunday. All four were illness/injury absentees when Glasgow lost to Cardiff by 7-46 at the Arms Park last Saturday, also in the Heineken Cup competition.Rory Kerr also returns for Glasgow's revenge mission, his reappearance on the left wing allowing Roland Reid to switch again to the back-row role in which he has been included in Scotland's squad for the international against Tonga a week tomorrow. Reid will be blind-side flanker, with Jason White moving again to lock, replacing Andy Hall.Nicol resumes as scrum half and captain after having dropped out of the team because of gastro-enteritis on the morning of the match last week. McLaren, Steel, and Kerr return in a recast threequarter line, with Andy Henderson switching from outside to inside centre. McLaren, like Nicol, was a late call-off last week, the international centre withdrawing from the team little more than 24 hours before the game because of a groin complaint, and Steel has missed Glasgow's past two matches because of a hamstring injury.Jon Stuart and Alan Bulloch drop out of the threequarters, and Nicol displaces Graeme Beveridge as scrum half. Bulloch and Beveridge are joined among the replacements by Simpson, who has been out of rugby for five weeks with an abdominal infection.Kick-off on Sunday will be at 3.45pm.
