Macfadyen And Bartlett Return For Glasgow

Glasgow have recalled Donnie Macfadyen and Michael Bartlett for the Celtic League match against Pontypridd at Sardis Road on Saturday. Macfadyen missed the 47-11 win against Bridgend last Friday because of a hamstring injury whereas Bartlett has not played for Glasgow since scoring two tries in the 44-35 victory at Cardiff on the league's opening day nearly four weeks ago.A foot injury to Jon Steel has allowed Bartlett to return on the right wing. Macfadyen takes over the No.7 jersey from his able deputy, Andrew Wilson.Graeme Beveridge, Jason White, and Ben Daly also return to the starting XV, though all three played as impact substitutes against Bridgend last week. Conversely, the three who make way - Andy Nicol, Nathan Ross, and Gordon Bulloch - are on the replacements" bench, as is Wilson. It will be Daly's first start in a Celtic League match. However, he has made no fewer than five replacement appearances - four as hooker and one as flanker - since his debut in the starting line-up in the first of Glasgow's August warm-up games against Harlequins.Rory Kerr, the wing who was concussed in the Cardiff match late last month, returns to the squad as a substitute after the mandatory three-week absence.Glasgow have never won at Sardis Road. However, they visit there aiming to score a third successive victory in Wales after winning at Cardiff and Newport. Just as important, a Celtic League quarter-final place could well be ensured if they beat Pontypridd, especially if they pick up a four-try bonus.Saturday's match will kick off at 2.30pm.
