Jason White Returns For Heineken Cup

Jason White will make a timely return for Glasgow against Llanelli on Saturday. The Scotland lock will not only be back in the pack for the Stradey Park match but he will also take over from Andy Nicol in leading the team into the start of the Heineken Cup campaign.White missed the defeat by the Borders at Netherdale last week because of a back injury. Also resuming is Lee Harrison, who was an absentee last week because of a shoulder injury.In all, five changes have been made from the team who started that Celtic League match - White for Nathan Ross at lock, Harrison and Cameron Blades for Euan Murray and David Hilton as props, Graeme Beveridge for Nicol as scrum half, and Andy Henderson for Alan Bulloch at outside centre. Blades, Beveridge, and Henderson all played as replacements against the Borders.Ben Daly, Glasgow's back-up hooker, will miss the Stradey Park match because of an ankle injury while he was playing for the development team against Sanix on Monday evening at Hughenden. His place on the bench for the Llanelli visit has gone to the 18-year-old Fergus Thomson, the West of Scotland hooker who was in Scotland's IRB/FIRA world junior championship squad last spring.Llanelli have been Heineken Cup semi-finalists twice in the past three seasons. However, Glasgow lead 4-3 in all games between the pair in the professional era, including a Welsh/Scottish League victory at Stradey Park in January last year. Saturday's match will kick off at 2.30pm.
