Glenn Metcalfe Restored At Full Back For Boxing Day Match

Glenn Metcalfe returns to his international position at full back for Glasgow in the Bank of Scotland Pro Rugby Cup match against Edinburgh at Hughenden on Thursday. It will also be the occasion for Joe Naufahu, Glasgow's New Zealand trialist centre, to make his debut.Previously this season Metcalfe has started 11 games in the threequarter line for Glasgow - nine on the left wing, and, most recently, two at outside centre in the Heineken Cup games against Bourgoin. Glasgow's full back in all 16 games so far this season had been Stuart Moffat, the Cambridge blue who joined the team in the summer and earned three caps in Scotland's autumn Tests last month.Naufahu, who has been in Canterbury Crusaders" Super 12 squad, arrived in Glasgow last week on an open-ended trial after he had been released by Leicester Tigers.Apart from Metcalfe's switch to full back and Naufahu's introduction at outside centre, Glasgow are otherwise unchanged after their 13-12 victory against Bourgoin in the Heineken Cup match at Hughenden 11 days ago.It is hoped that Jason White will be fit to resume in the squad with a place among the substitutes. The Scotland forward has recovered from concussion after injury in the November international against Fiji, but he had to have treatment today for a back strain. A decision on his fitness will be left until Thursday morning. Andy Nicol, Glasgow's captain, who has recovered from a calf strain, has been listed among the replacements.Kick-off in the Boxing Day match will be at 2.00pm.
