Ian Mcinroy Recalled After Long Absence

Ian McInroy will make a rare appearance for Glasgow in the Bank of Scotland Pro Rugby Cup match against Edinburgh at Meadowbank tomorrow evening. It will be his first start in a competition match since the Welsh/Scottish League game at Bridgend in late August 2001.Since then he had made only three appearances in the Glasgow colours, first as a replacement against Cardiff just over a year ago and then in this season's August warm-up games against Harlequins and Exeter.McInroy's recall is among seven changes in personnel from the starting line-up in the Heineken Cup match that Glasgow lost to Llanelli at Hughenden last Friday. Also returning are Glenn Metcalfe, Joe Naufahu, Andy Nicol, Jon Petrie, Andrew Hall, and Andrew Kelly. Nicol returns to lead the team, taking over from Graeme Beveridge, who damaged a shoulder in the first half of the game against Llanelli.Naufahu, who makes up a new centre partnership with McInroy, was ineligible for Heineken Cup games. Metcalfe and Nicol missed the Llanelli match because of injury whereas Petrie and Hall played as replacements in last Friday's game.Barry Irving, listed among the replacement backs, returns to the squad after an absence of nearly three months. His last appearance in the match 22 was when he played as a second-half replacement in Glasgow's previous Meadowbank game against Edinburgh on 1 November.Andrew Henderson, Lee Harrison, and Ben Daly, like Beveridge, are unavailable for tomorrow because of injury.Tomorrow's match will kick off at 7.30pm.
