Andrew Wilson Returns For Glasgow

Andrew Wilson will make his first competition appearance of the season when Glasgow take on Celtic Warriors tomorrow at Brewery Field, Bridgend. The Scotland A flanker's recall for the Celtic Cup first-round tie is among seven changes in personnel from the team who started the Ravenhill match in which Glasgow lost to Ulster by 6-33 last Friday.Four of the changes have been enforced. Rory Kerr, Joe Naufahu, and Matthew Proudfoot have been ruled out by injuries in the Belfast match whereas Donnie Macfadyen has flu. In all, six players are unavailable. Kerr took a shoulder knock, Naufahu and Proudfoot have knee injuries, Sam Pinder is recovering from a finger operation, and Rory McKay, like Macfadyen, has flu.On the credit side Wilson and Gareth Maclure return after injuries. The latter suffered a face knock on his Celtic League debut in the win against Cardiff two weeks ago.Wilson is in for Macfadyen as open-side flanker, Joe Beardshaw for Nathan Ross at lock, Andrew Kelly and Lee Harrison for Euan Murray and Proudfoot as the props, Maclure and Sean Lamont for Kerr and Jon Steel as the wings, and Alan Bulloch for Naufahu as inside centre. Harrison, Lamont, and Bulloch played as replacements against Ulster.Tomorrow's match will be the first competition appearance for Beardshaw, the lock who joined Glasgow from London Wasps during the summer. Kelly, like Wilson, will be having his first outing of the season for Glasgow.
