The Border Reivers suffered another Magners League defeat tonight, this time at the hands of Cardiff Blues, who continued their unbeaten home record this season.

The Blues opened the scoring in the second minute through a Rhys Shellard try which was converted by fullback Ben Blair.

However, the Reives fought back with a Calum MacRae penalty followed by a Simon Danielli try.

But as prop Gavin Kerr was sent to the sin bin for a late tackle, it took the Borders until the 64th minute to find the scoresheet again, by which time they were 29-8 down.

Garry Law’s try in the 64th minute, which was converted by MacRae, completed the Reivers’ tally for the evening.

The Border Reivers return to Heineken Cup action next weekend when they face Northampton Saints at Netherdale on Sunday 14 January (kick-off 2pm).

Tickets are priced from ?£10 for adults and ?£5 for concessions (u18’s, students and OAPs) and are available by calling the Ticket Hotline on 0131 346 5100, via the Reivers’ website – www.borderreivers.org – or at the ground on the day.
