Scotland's second game of the day was against Samoa who currently sit fourth in the IRB Sevens World Series standings.

Colin Shaw and Thom Evans continued their scoring spree to cross over for Scotland’s opening scores with captain Scott Forrest and Ben Addison following suit shortly after.

However, a clinical Samoan side pipped the Scots by a single score for them to claim the victory.

Head coach Stephen Gemmell said: ”Our attack has been decent today but our defence has cost us a valuable win. ”All of the boys are absolutely determined to get a result against Papua New Guinea who we’re up against next.”
