Scots Record First Win In Welllington

Scotland 17, Papua New Guinea 12 Scotland recorded their first win of the Wellington Sevens against Papua New Guinea today. Having reached the half-way mark 5-12 down with only a single score from Border Reivers scrum-half Calum Cusiter to show for their efforts, the Scots came from behind to steal the victory.

Having reached the half-way mark 5-12 down with only a single score from Border Reivers scrum-half Calum Cusiter to show for their efforts, the Scots came from behind to steal the victory.

Cusiter’s Border Reivers team-mate Mark Robertson touched down along with Ben Addison to complete the comeback.

Head coach Stephen Gemmell said: “I'm really proud of the boys today. We set out to get a victory and they really dug deep to get it.” 

The Scotland 7s team will return home on 2-3 June when the final leg of the IRB Sevens World Series comes to Scotland for the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens - 2007.
