Four players will be unavailable through injury to train when the Scotland squad gather at Murrayfield tomorrow to begin preparations for the RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Ireland a week on Saturday. Chris Paterson (right ankle), Euan Murray (left thigh), Dave Callam (left calf) and Kelly Brown (right shoulder) have all been assessed by the Scotland medical team today.

Chris Paterson (right ankle), Euan Murray (left thigh), Dave Callam (left calf) and Kelly Brown (right shoulder) have all been assessed by the Scotland medical team today.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "Of all of these, Chris Paterson, Euan Murray and Dave Callam are unlikely to take part in training this week and will continue with daily treatment.

"In addition treatment is ongoing for Dougie Hall (thigh), Rob Dewey (back) and Gavin Kerr (knee), who also sustained bumps and bruises in the match against Italy."
