Bates Makes Four Changes For Ulster Visit

Border Reivers head coach Steve Bates has made four changes, one positional, to the starting line-up that played European semi-finalists Llanelli in Wales last weekend. Speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s game against reigning league champions Ulster, Bates said: “Last week Llanelli showed us why they are Heineken Cup semi-finalists and pushed our resolve to the limits.

“However, this week will give us an opportunity to play in front of a patriotic Borders crowd and I have no doubt it will help lift the team’s spirits during this difficult time.”

In the back division, Nick De Luca starts in the centre, switching with Bryan Rennie who moves to the bench.

In the pack, John Dalziel moves to flanker making room for Craig Hamilton who starts in the second row alongside Opeta Palepoi.

Palepoi moves to the other side of the scrum from last week as Hamilton pulls on the number five shirt.

Two new faces appear on the bench as National Academy prop Bruce McNeil features alongside Stuart Grimes who has recovered sufficiently from a knee operation.
