Head coach Frank Hadden has made a change to the Scotland A squad for this month's Barclays Churchill Cup in England.

Hadden today announced that he has withdrawn Lee Dickson, the Newcastle Falcons scrum-half, from the squad. Dickson had played for Scotland at under-19 level then switched to England at under-21 level.

Robert Chrystie, the Border Reivers scrum-half, who played for Scotland A in their victory over their Italian counterparts in February and was a member of the same Scotland under-19 team as Jason White and Chris Paterson, will now join the A squad.

Hadden explained: "Lee and our former international flanker Peter Walton from the Falcons coaching team had made contact with me earlier this season to stress that Lee was fully committed to going down the Scotland route.

"Now that is not the case and I will only select players who are 100% committed to representing Scotland.

"I am pleased that Robert Chrystie can be added to our provisional squad and I will be monitoring his form and that of other quality Scottish scrum-halves before we settle on our final Scotland A selection."

Scotland A will meet the USA at Henley on Wednesday 23 May (kick-off 6pm) and England Saxons at Twickenham on Monday 28 May (kick-off 3pm) in their pool matches in the Barclay’s Churchill Cup. Finals Day is at Twickenham on Saturday 2 June.

Last season, on their first venture to the competition, Scotland A finished runners-up, after victories over England and Canada.
