More than 1700 tickets for Scotlan's August Test matches against Ireland and South Africa were sold within six hours of the public sale beginning today. The games at Murrayfield are v Ireland on Saturday 11 August (kick-off 2.30pm) and v South Africa on Saturday 25 August (kick-off 5pm).

In response to feedback from loyal supporters, those who back these matches will be rewarded with automatic entry into a ballot for the right to buy tickets for Scotland's Calcutta Cup contest with England at Murrayfield in the 2008 RBS 6 Nations Championship.

In the recent past Scottish Rugby has been able to offer a limited number of Scotland v England tickets for public sale. But for the 2008 game no public sale is planned.

All 15,000 tickets for the Scotland v England game at Murrayfield on Saturday 8 March that are available after allocation to Scotland's rugby clubs, debenture holders and other priority stakeholder groups, will be used to reward those who have supported the Scotland team at a vital time ahead of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
