Scottish Rugby has set a deadline of 5pm on Tuesday 21 August to receive initial notes of interest in this high profile role.
So far there has been a “healthy interest” in the post with applications coming in from around the rugby world, including several from overseas.
Gordon McKie, Scottish Rugby’s Chief Executive, said: “We have been impressed with the overall quality of candidates coming forward for this post. We recognise the need to identify a top quality head coach quickly for Edinburgh and so following next Tuesday’s deadline for applications, we plan to move ahead swiftly through a structured selection process to secure the ideal person.”
Henry Edwards, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Player Development, is acting as the team’s interim head coach.
The ideal candidate for the position of Edinburgh’s Head Coach will have a clear ability to drive and improve performance and an established track record of performance coaching at a professional level within rugby. In addition, the role requires strong motivational and leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
