Club And National Coaches Join Forces For Scottish Success

Ten SWRU Club coaches took advantage of the opportunity to meet and work with the Scotland Women management team on Sunday 9th September, at the first SWRU coaching updateScotland Women??™s Head Coach Lee Adamson started the day off with a presentation based around the Scotland Women principles leading up to the Rugby World Cup 2010. This was followed by a coaching session led by Lee, with the assistance of Scotland Women Development coaches Jules Murciano and Boyd Carswell.

Club coaches were then invited to a question and answer session based around the SWRU clubs and the SWRU performance programmes. As a result the SWRU will be encouraging the club coaches to send copies of their club games to the SWRU Performance Development Manager throughout the season, to ensure a continuous talent identification process.

Other key discussions from the day included;
??? Continued effective communication between clubs and performance staff.
??? Opportunities for further coach education (Please see the SRU website ??“ Coach Education).
??? Player centred learning approach.
??? Club and Country working together to achieve results.

The SWRU is keen to build a genuine partnership between club coaches and SWRU Performance Development staff, therefore all SWRU club coaches are asked to complete the SWRU Club Coaching form and send to SWRU PDM Jo Hull.

The next Coach update will take place on the 18th February 2008 and all club coaches are welcome to attend.
