The Scots’ programme will open against France on Wednesday 26 March. They then take on host nation Ireland three days later on Saturday 29 March, and their final match will be against England on Tuesday 1 April.

In last season’s festival, played in Glasgow, the Scots beat Wales and Italy but lost to England.

The April match in Cork next year will be the second time in little more than a month that the two countries will have met at under-18 level. England will visit Scotland on Saturday 1 March for match at a venue that has yet to be decided.

That game will be followed by a match against Italy on Sunday 9 March, also in Scotland. Six days later the Scots will travel to Wales for their final international before the Cork festival.

Scotland’s under-17 squad will be contesting Millfield School’s festival, seeking to emulate their 2007 counterparts, who scored a clean sweep with wins against France (16-3), England (17-15), and Wales (16-11). Next year’s festival at the Somerset school will be played in the week beginning Sunday 30 March.
