Baird And Calder Named In Squad

Back-row forwards Jonny Baird and Lewis Calder have been named in the Scotland under-20 training squad who begin preparations for their own Six Nations tournament at Murrayfield later this month. The duo, sons of 1984 Grand Slam heroes Roger Baird and Jim Calder respectively, are named in a 30-strong group who will report for training on 20 November. The duo, sons of 1984 Grand Slam heroes Roger Baird and Jim Calder respectively, are named in a 30-strong group who will report for training on 20 November.

Scotland under-20 head coach Colin Robertson explained: “We will play against Glasgow’s back-up squad in December and that will be an important match for us before we open our Six Nations campaign against France in February. It’s a big year for the under-20s with the IRB world championship at the end of the season in June.”
