Remember The Top Lips Of Movember

Image Club captain Simon Cross and summer signing Ben Meyer have stressed the team's performances will remain razor-sharp in November but their grooming regime will take a back-seat as the players grow moustaches for charity.
_
Movember is a fun initiative designed to raise funds and awareness for Prostrate Cancer Charity UK and the Edinburgh squad and staff including head coach Andy Robinson, have shown their support by letting their facial furniture grow.
_
Club captain Cross said: "We will grow our moustaches for a month and it will cause all sorts of mayhem at home with the women, who will bribe us into shaving it off.
_
"But there is also a rather serious element to it as well; the Movember charity is the prostate cancer charity and the cause is important to a lot of us."

"From a personal point, I actually lost my best friend, Chris Mallet, to cancer about 18 months ago. So while it is a bit of fun with the moustaches there is still a very serious element to it as well.
_
"We are pretty fit and healthy young men and Chris was as well; he was an Under-21 player alongside me at Wasps. So for him to get struck down like that brings it home to you. It is great to get the awareness out there and any way we can help is fantastic."
_
Similarly Kiwi scrum-half Ben Meyer has been one of the early pacesetters cultivating some serious top lip stubble after throwing himself into the challenge.
_
Meyer said: "I think it is just a chance for some of the boys to grow some facial hair. But we also know that we are doing something different that will help us raise money for a worthy charity.
_
"I have "googled" moustache styles a few times and there are ones like the "undercover brother" or 'the slug".
_
"I am probably after a Henry Edwards-style (Edinburgh's former interim head coach) moustache curled up on the top lip. But I don't think I"ll be going for a handlebar.
_
"I think the blonde boys are going to struggle and Simon Cross claims he is blonde but he is currently sporting a rather bright orange line across his face.
_
"I think Alan McDonald is going to be up there and I think there will be a few dark horses going for it at the end."
_
The players will have a ceremonial shave-off at the end of the month with an overall winner being judged by Scotland development coach Henry Edwards and Edinburgh assistant coach Rob Moffatt.
_
The funds raised from the moustache growing will be donated to Prostate Cancer Charity UK and also to Sick Kids the charity for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.
