Blair Aiming For Cardiff Repeat

ImageMike Blair admits he will be aiming to experience de ja vu in Cardiff on Saturday when he lines up for Scotland against Wales at the Millennium Stadium (kick off 2pm) after experiencing a win with Edinburgh last month just yards away at the Arm's Park.

Edinburgh scrum-half Blair, 26, produced an inspirational performance at the base of the scrum in January as the top-ranked Scottish club side recorded a well-deserved 11-10 triumph at Cardiff Blues.

Despite the odds being stacked against them before kick-off, Edinburgh reacted superbly to the adverse weather conditions and showed superior game management to their opponents to close the contest in the Welsh mud.

Now Edinburgh-born Blair, who is set to win his 45th cap for his country, revealed he is hoping lightning will strike twice in the Welsh capital.

Blair said: "Looking back, we had confidence we had confidence going into the game at Cardiff. The weather was so bad we had to adjust our gameplan to suit the conditions.

"Obviously even though it is next door the Millennium Stadium will be different because if the roof is closed the rain won't be a factor and it will be an even more intense atmosphere.

"But Scotland need to play like Edinburgh did; we need to hold them and try and play our own game."_
