Glasgow Warriors hooker, Eric Milligan, recently attended a fundraising dinner in aid of the Ciaran Pryce Appeal.

In October last year, Ciaran, who is 15 years old, was playing for his school - Cathkin High School - when he suffered a serious neck injury, which left him tetraplegic (paralysed from the neck down with some use of his upper limbs).

Ciaran was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, which houses the National Spinal Injuries Unit, where he is now receiving care.

Ciaran also played rugby for Cambuslang RFC and Jim Stevenson, president of Cambuslang RFC, along with Cathkin High School and Scottish Opera (his parents play in the Orchestra and Ciaran has performed on stage with the Opera in the past) established the Ciaran Pryce Appeal.

All the funds raised by the Appeal will be donated to a Trust which has been established to cater for Ciaran's long term needs.

The evening Eric attended raised over _5,000 for the Appeal and it was also announced that the Appeal had received _2,500 from the GHA ceilidh and the local scout group donated _2,000 from their most recent bag packing exercise.

The total raised has now surpassed _10,000.
