Gala started brightly with captain, Lisa Robertson, crossing the line to score her first of five tries in the fifth minute.

Both sides threatened to score but it was Gala who were next to cross the line through Alix Johnson and Meaghan Morrison to make it 21-0 after 13 minutes.

Murrayfield responded with an unconverted try as the Edinburgh side loosened up and started to threaten the Gala back line with good running from Jennifer Taylor.

But a clinical Gala replied with Robertson's second try of the afternoon.

Half time: 28-5

Murrayfield had it all to do in the second half and started well but a powerful Gala side ran in two tries without reply _x0013_ pacy Anna Hughes getting her first of the afternoon with a breakaway try from inside her own 22.

Despite the score line, Wanderers didn_x0019_t let their heads go down and responded positively with a well worked forwards try from Ashley Manual and a brace from the skillful Jennifer Taylor.

Despite the Murrayfield fight back, Gala kept the scoreboard rolling with two tries either side of the Manual and Taylor brace to finish the game as clear winners.
