Wanderers dominated the one sided tie with some quick and skilful back play, scoring their first try through Claire Bain in just two minutes.
Two more tries followed from Emma McAllister and Sam Chalmers before Bain scored her second of the half after picking a great gap in the opposition back line to go clean through for a try between the posts.
Murrayfield scored a further five tries in the first half through Sarah Quick, Emma McAllister, Rebecca Asquith, Julia Blair and Lisa Martin, who received the ball wide and showed great feet to side step the last defender and cross the try line.

Lisa Martin scored her second of the afternoon following some good hands in contact by Edinburgh, the stand-off's good support play rewarded with a well worked try.
Shona Peacock scored the final try of the afternoon following a thundering tackle by captain, Lisa Martin, resulting in a turn over in the Melrose 22. The ball broke quickly and Peacock scored the try later converted by Martin.
