The Scotland 7s team were denied a late result against Argentina in Adelaide today as they were edged out by just two points.

Richie Vernon was first to strike as he crossed the line, Ali Warnock adding the conversion. Argentina then ran in two converted scores before Vernon claimed his second.

The Pumas touched down to give them a 19-12 lead but a late try from Scotland dealt them a late blow. However, Warnock was unable to add the conversion to tie the game. After the game, Scotland 7s coach Stephen Gemmell said: "We are disappointed with the result but it was a much better performance from last week in Hong Kong.

We've got a different task ahead of us in needing to turn over New Zealand, but we'll definitely give it a go."
