The Scotland 7s team were knocked out of the Bowl competition at the semi-final stage by the USA this morning.

The USA scored two early tries before Ali Warnock brought the Scots back into the game just before half-time.

Three further tries for the USA gave Scotland a mountain to climb, and despite a late score from Mike Adamson and a conversion from Warnock, the Scots couldn't topple the Americans.

After the game, Scotland 7s coach, Stephen Gemmell, said: "We're a bit disappointed. It's been a long two weeks for the guys.

We went behind early on and missed a couple of tackles. We struggled to get any tempo and we didn't have the ball for long periods of time.

_x001C_It's an improvement from last weekend but still not good enough."
