Lineen: Glasgow Fans Could Mean Points

Sean Lineen
Glasgow Warriors head coach, Sean Lineen, praised the support his side received from the Glasgow fans in the last derby clash against Edinburgh and is looking for a repeat performance from the stands this time round, but with the result on the field going the way of the Warriors.

Lineen said: 'the last game against Edinburgh was a great advert for Scottish rugby. Our travelling support was fantastic and I hope the same atmosphere is replicated in front of a huge Glasgow crowd at Firhill, obviously with the result going to us. Our supporters could mean points for us at the end of the day."

Having won their first away Magners League game of the season in their last outing, Lineen is looking forward to what promises to be a tense inter-city derby, he added: "We have some momentum going into this one after a character-building win away to the Dragons a fortnight ago. But tomorrow night is shaping up to be a fantastic game. These types of matches are always one-offs."

Only six points separate Glasgow and Edinburgh in the Magners League and Edinburgh have one hand on the 1872 Challenge Cup having beaten Glasgow 35-31 in the previous meeting at Murrayfield. The team with the best aggregate score over the two legs will lift the 1872 Challenge Cup tomorrow night.
